I'm not a fan of anthologies, but picked this one up only because of Rebecca Zanetti。 Four stars for both of the stories by Zanetti and Pearce。 I would like to see a continuation of the Zanetti story and it turned into a series。 There are plenty of "friends" to choose from。 It was a DNF on the Palmer story; not for me - nope。 I'm not a fan of anthologies, but picked this one up only because of Rebecca Zanetti。 Four stars for both of the stories by Zanetti and Pearce。 I would like to see a continuation of the Zanetti story and it turned into a series。 There are plenty of "friends" to choose from。 It was a DNF on the Palmer story; not for me - nope。 。。。more

Le forum du siteReviewed by FabiolaReview Copy from the PublisherI voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book。 All thoughts and opinions are my own。Lone Wolf is an anthology joining Diana Palmer, Rebecca Zanetti and Kate Pearce。I chose to read it for the first two authors I know well。 Diana Palmer is a renowned author of contemporary romance published since 1979。 Rebecca Zanetti is more recent but I’m fan of her romances in general。 Seeing those two authors in a single anthology pleasantly surprised me, especially as the novellas are unpublished。Colorado cowboy by Diana PalmerDiana Palmer has a long series (Long, Tall Texan) but I can’t say if this novella is part of it。 In any case, the heroine has the same surname as the author’s two sisters and ex-heroines but there’s no link at first glance。In Colorado cowboy, Esther Marist, our heroine, sees her mother’s murder and she flees at the latter’s request, and out of fear of reprisal from the murderer, her mother’s boyfriend。 In her escape, she meets the hero, Butch Matthews, who understands she has some problems and decides to help her。 The attraction is immediate between both characters, and very soon Esther confides in him, while hiding an important element of her life。 That’s what will come between them at one point。It had been a long time since I read a recent Diana Palmer’s story and I understand why I took a break from her。 In Colorado cowboy, I (unfortunately) found the flaws too recurrent in her books: too much repetition, too many clichés, especially with a heroine young, virgin, naïve, pious… I don’t have any problem with that, but Diana Palmer tends to put them all in the same character (the heroine) and it becomes tiresome。 What’s more, I had a big problem with the role taken by the heroine’s mother: she had some flaws, of course, but the more we progress in the book, the more the author gives her all the possible and conceivable flaws。 And finally, I didn’t like at all the resolution of the conflict that separates the heroes for a short time。In spite of that, I read the story to the end, so it can be read easily, but do not expect something modern, it’s Diana Palmer after all。The wolf on her doorstep by Kate PearceBeth Baker is a divorced woman, mother of a child and guardian of another。 She supervises the management of a ranch where there are cabins rented to people。 Conner O’Neil, our hero, has recently rented one of them, but being a loner and grumpy in nature, he didn’t make a good impression with her。However, an incident forces Beth to go to the cabin in order to check if everything is all right。 When she arrives, she realizes he’s injured himself and she decides to help him。 This novella had more emotion than the previous one。 Between the relations the heroine has with her son, and her difficult past with her ex-husband, she doesn’t trust men and we can understand it。 However as the story is short, the heroes quickly yield to their attraction。 The problem will come from the feelings growing between the heroes and for which they’re not prepared, and also from the heroine’s son。Kate Pearce is an author I hadn’t read before and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this story。 I liked that the heroes don’t have doubts at first and I appreciated the way the story is solve all in all。In any case, it’s a very likable and moving story, which raised the anthology’s level。Rescue : cowboy style by Rebecca ZanettiTrent Logan, a confirmed bachelor, meets our heroine, Hallie, when she’s facing a particularly violent storm。 The heroine, guided by a lone wolf, arrives in the bar where he is。 Trent is attracted to her as soon as he sees her and hopes to spend the night with her。 But he soon realizes she’s in distress and he decides to help her。 As they spend time together, he understands she’s in danger。 She doesn’t want to talk about it, in order for him not be in danger, but he doesn’t want to give up, not only because he thinks about keeping her but also because he has skills allowing him to help her。I liked this story a lot, but that didn’t really surprise me, coming from Rebecca Zanetti。 The heroes are every likable, Trent is an alpha male who doesn’t give up on the heroine even if she turns him down, and the story evolves well in spite of the short size。 By the way, it’s the longest novella in the anthology, probably because of the suspense。 I also appreciated the help of the hero’s brothers in arm, who by the way have good potential to be future heroes。To conclude, Lone Wolf is an anthology with which I had a good time globally。 All the stories are unpublished and standalones and are not linked one to the other at all。 The only link is the wolf, different in each novella, and it has an important role。 。。。more

Sweet romance…Colorado Cowboy by Diana PalmerEsther was at a crossroads in her life, fleeing from violence and loss, she had few options。 Landing on her feet, helping hands offered her a leg up to find her feet and figure things out。 Matthew was used to rescuing wild animals but petite blondes should have been out of his wheelhouse。 Surprisingly, they hit it off and soon were working together and falling in love。 Esther may have been a bit naïve for this century even if it was explained yet I co Sweet romance…Colorado Cowboy by Diana PalmerEsther was at a crossroads in her life, fleeing from violence and loss, she had few options。 Landing on her feet, helping hands offered her a leg up to find her feet and figure things out。 Matthew was used to rescuing wild animals but petite blondes should have been out of his wheelhouse。 Surprisingly, they hit it off and soon were working together and falling in love。 Esther may have been a bit naïve for this century even if it was explained yet I couldn’t help but like her and how she loved Matthew…。 The Wolf on her Doorstep by Kate PearceA stand-offish recluse meets independent divorcee in a romance that had both questioning some of their choices。 Beth couldn’t help but be gently pushy as she helped Conner recover from illness, despite his many protests。 Turnabout was fair play as he couldn’t help but offer advice as she struggled with family issues。 Theirs was a quick path to love but I couldn’t help but feel they were right for each other and were mature enough to know what their feelings were。 Taking turns being salty, I loved this snack-sized discovery of love…Rescue: Cowboy Style by Rebecca ZanettiTrent and Hallie were an unlikely pair – an accountant and a cowboy。 Or was he? I liked the chemistry, the banter and the instant attraction they had。 There was mystery surrounding both of the main characters, hiding from each other and the reader。 The uncovering of the whys and whats, as the duo worked through and embraced their growing relationship, was a cowboy-centric fun read。 Their story read too quickly for my taste, I wanted more of the banter and the realization that they cared for each other。 Trent had a lot of ‘family’ though and I would love to hear from all of them…**These stories were sweet stories packed in fast-paced novellas。 Cowboys, along with their trusty wolves, were key as they fell in love with women who ended up being their perfect matches。 A solid trio, with no unnecessary or crazy drama, they were satisfying, rainy day afternoon reads…*I happily reviewed this story**Thank you to NetGalley 。。。more

All three novellas were a perfect romantic escape, quick reads and entertaining。 The first two in the book, Colorado Cowboy and The Wolf on Her Doorstep centered mainly around the hero and heroine, while the third Rescue: Cowboy Style pulled in several other characters to make it more interesting。 Hoping Rebecca Zanetti will write about the other brothers finding their perfect match。

Three stories in one book, brilliant。 The great thing is you can read in any order and not skip a beat, and sometimes, one story shines above the rest。 It seems for me that the first two stories, “Colorado Cowboy” by Diana Palmer and “The Wolf on her Doorstep” by Kate Pearce segue into the last book that really shines among the three, “Rescue: Cowboy Style” by Rebecca Zanetti。 The common factor running through all three, a lone wolf and an alpha type cowboy, which really make the journey frequen Three stories in one book, brilliant。 The great thing is you can read in any order and not skip a beat, and sometimes, one story shines above the rest。 It seems for me that the first two stories, “Colorado Cowboy” by Diana Palmer and “The Wolf on her Doorstep” by Kate Pearce segue into the last book that really shines among the three, “Rescue: Cowboy Style” by Rebecca Zanetti。 The common factor running through all three, a lone wolf and an alpha type cowboy, which really make the journey frequently bumpy, fun, engaging on the trip to the HEA。“Colorado Cowboy” is classic Diana Palmer, and sets the stage out in the ranges of Colorado, the main female character Esther, born to wealth and privilege, is on the run from her stepfather after witnessing the murder of her mother。 She lands on the doorstep of wildlife rehabber Butch Matthews who keeps company with a lone three-legged blind wolf named Two-Toes。 Butch has his demons from serving in Iraq but does not hesitate to take on the danger that Esther is running from in an effort to make her safe。 As we watch Esther normalize into her new blue-collar existence it is obvious that Butch and Esther are destined to be together in this sugary sweet story。“The Wolf on Her Doorstep” is by an author, Kate Pearce, who I have not previously read, but the story was well-done and of course involves a lone wolf, a strong woman, Beth Baker, on her own with her teenage sons, and Conner O’Neil who renting a remote cabin, and there is a wolf hanging with Conner – Beth is the property manager。 Beth and Conner are fighting their own demons– but together they both find their way, and even the teenage boys come around。 This was a fun trip in a remote cabin that was less tame than the preceding story, and not quite as sweet, but strong women connecting with alpha men is always interesting。“Rescue: Cowboy Style” is from one of my favorite authors and to be honest the reason I gave this book a chance。 Yet another great story with a great group of characters in the hills of Wyoming。 Hallie shows up at “The Lodge” in a raging storm, soaked and chilled to the bone – the lone wolf found her and led her there。 Here, Hallie meets Trent Logan, who finds that Hallie is different than the gals he normally meets。 Yes, there is an instant attraction between Trent and Hallie, and she is fighting it the entire time – until she doesn’t, but she is also on the run from some seriously bad people and Trent Logan has decided that he and his ‘brothers’ are just the folks to make Hallie’s world a safer place。 This story was excellent – another great romance world, Cowboy Style, from Rebecca Zanetti。 Love me some cowboys 😊This was a great way to experience new author’s and different writing styles。 Knowing that Rebecca Zanetti was one of the authors was the deciding factor to read this book, and it was worth it! 。。。more

I had a tough time deciding how to review this book。 I love the idea of a wolf connecting all 3 of the stories, however, I unfortunately did not love all 3 of the stories。Individual Rating for Colorado Cowboy by Diana Palmer would be a 2。 The story is about a younger woman that escapes a bad situation。 (I don't like spoilers so I won't get deep into the details of the situation。) She finds herself meeting a man named Butch that has bad memories from war in Iraq。 I didn't exactly hate the story, I had a tough time deciding how to review this book。 I love the idea of a wolf connecting all 3 of the stories, however, I unfortunately did not love all 3 of the stories。Individual Rating for Colorado Cowboy by Diana Palmer would be a 2。 The story is about a younger woman that escapes a bad situation。 (I don't like spoilers so I won't get deep into the details of the situation。) She finds herself meeting a man named Butch that has bad memories from war in Iraq。 I didn't exactly hate the story, however, I found that it seems pretty juvenile to me。 Esther is very immature and doesn't really make the best choices in my opinion。 Butch needs to work a bit on how to communicate with her, although I do understand his worry about frightening her。 I felt as if a lot of the story had internal dialogue that wasn't necessary because it kept repeating itself。 The story was just 'eh' in my opinion。 I feel it had a lot of potential and it really didn't live up to what could have been a great story。 I've never read a story by this author so I can't compare it to her other work & I'm not sure that I will read another story by her, I just didn't like it。Individual Rating for The Wolf on Her Doorstep by Kate Pearce would be a 3。 This story was better than the first one。 It's about a woman, Beth, that has 2 teenage boys (one is her biological son and the other is her son's half brother that she adopted)。 There is definitely a lot of triggers in this story with physical abuse from the boys biological dad that is in jail。 I enjoyed the relationship that was built between Beth & a man named Conner。 There was just a lot of growth & how to deal with past hurts and how the Mom, siblings, and her new boyfriend just dealt with life and moving along from past pain。 It was interesting but didn't suck me in to the story and make me have to know what was going to happen next。 I've never read a story by this author either。 I might consider reading another story because this story wasn't horrible & I can see where the story could possibly go。 。。。more
